Structured Settlement Factoring

Have you recently or are you about to receive a structured settlement? A structured settlement can be a great thing if you have been the victim of malfeasance, have been severely injured or can no longer physically work. Structured settlements can help you pay bills and put food on the table.

But what do you do if you have been awarded a structured settlement? Have you already decided that you might prefer to have the cash instead of payments over time? If you are in this situation you are in luck because there are now companies that will buy your structured settlement for a discounted price?

This is similar to "factoring" which is used in businesses to help them determine and maintain their cash flows. They can sell their accounts receivables (the list of everyone that owes them money) to another company thereby getting the money that is owed to them in advance. For example, let's say a company, that does cleaning services for a government agency (which are notoriously slow to pay) and that this government agency owes them $50,000 for services already completed? A factoring company will buy the $50,000 that the government agency owes them for $40,000 and give the money to the company now.

You may think that paying 20% of the $50,000 is very expensive, and yes it may be so, however, small business have cash flow needs so they can meet payroll, pay bills, etc. If a small business does not get the money in a timely mannerthey could go out of business. The government is so slow to pay on their contracts that many small business cannot wait for the payments. Going out of business is not a good thing and if it happens all the money invested and time to build the business is gone.

Let us say you have a structured settlement and you cash out of the deal using the same type of company? They will get the structured settlement money each month instead of you, but you will have all the money up front minus a 10-15% discount on the total money you would have received. You can then use this money for whatever you want. Such as investing, buying a house or buying new car, plasma TV and other things humans want to make them happy. You see?
