Are you serious?? Hire a lawyer. That is just a stupid question
Depends on your situation with the claim. Are you working right now? Are you still off work? Are you participating in a vocational rehab program? Whats the current value of permanent partial disability (PPD)?
There is some questions you need to ask yourself.
What do you want? Do you want to settle the claim entirely?
Lets say…
You want to keep medicals open for the rest of your life because you want pain management. Deduct about $15,000 from your settlement value.
You want to go to school via vocational rehab and learn a new trade such as computers or knitting, deduct about $25,000
Your willing to settle the entire claim, meaning you’ll be responsible for your own medicine after the settlement. Your on your own after your paid out. Cost for a back injury possible $100,000+
You see there is a lot of questions you need to ask yourself. I can’t tell you how much you’ll need to either have the adjuster tell you how much they are willing to settle and what your settling. Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Ask what will I be settling?
If they are waiting for your answer than think about your current condition. If you want to keep meds open than your settlement amount will be lower. If you want to close the entire file including reopening rights, than your settlement will be higher.
Throw a number out there, make sure it’s reasonable. If you say "I’ll settle for $500,000 than your likely going to get a counter of $10,000 to help you come down to earth.
Good luck
He is right. Hire someone.
a friend of mine was in similar situation and he used Pain Pump. It’s a free service.
hope it helps
Defiantly hire an attorney ! I have been dealing with a similar issue for four yrs now. Depending on where you are most law offices will take your case with you not having to put money up front when you settle your case they usually get paid by receiving fifteen percent of your winnings. There are so may new laws and loop holes that it is very beneficial to have a professional by your side and get you the most out of your situation.
